I thought now would as good of a time as any to travel back to 1993. The year Bam Bam Bigelow was almost immortalized.
On June 13, 1993 at a smokey Nutter Center in Dayton Ohio the WWE’s King of the Ring tournament took place. The card was filled with future WWE Hall of Famers including Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels. But on this night Bigelow and Hart would be featured in the main event.
Bret Hart’s Opponents
Hart went through an amazing trio of opponents to win the tournament. The likes of which might not have been surpassed to this day.
- Razor Ramon
- Mr. Perfect
- Bam Bam Bigelow
The final
The match between Bam Bam and Hart was the climax of a an amazing tournament. Bigelow waa the fresher man having received a bye the round before after the Tatanka and Lex Luger match ended with the time limit expiring and both men being eliminated.
Hart was the quicker and in the end he came out on top after an amazing move where he hurdled rushing Bam Bam and rolled him up for the pin.
Bigelow would never go on to hold any WWE titles or receive any accolades. While Hart would go on to become the ‘The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.’
